I belive you used something to make it looks like it’s night…I dunno what is it but I don’t think it’s photoshop…I forgot what is called…it’s like paper….well…maybe I’m wrong..and it’s in fact a well done photoshop image…..I can see some small squares in the first panel so..maybe it’s photoshop..I rlly don’t know…aaww..who cares…it’s rlly well done…I love the lights effect….XD

Aw, I think the backgrounds are fine. They set up the scene perfectly well and make way for all the characters. I sometimes feel a bit guilty when I find a comic with really rich backgrounds because when I’m swept up in the story I look at them so briefly, even if I do admire the artistry. ^_^;;

Now I wonder, is Denny just singing and partying so loud she can’t hear, or is she drunk? O.O;;;

Oh Xav…”grumpy-poo” sounds so gay… The “I was hoping you died” was funny, and so very “grumps”.

Awww man, now we have to wait till Monday to see what Denny’s doing!! She must be drunk or something, Grumps looks pretty shocked.

Any had any problems posting comments earlier? I was trying an anti spam plugin but someone contacted me saying they can’t post comments. I deactivated it now as I guessed that was the problem.

@Deko
It is done in photoshop. : )
I didn’t want to use any screentones in the comic (or use very few of them) but then realized I -do- have a night scene (maybe more in the future) and using pencils to shade the sky wasn’t going to turn out well.
Any effects around are done in PS.

@Threnodi
I know what you mean! Though I’m usually the other way around. I get lost staring at the backgrounds and the art and miss the story. ^_^;;;;

@Rahna
Xav did call him like that again when they met in Seadril way back in chapter 2. *laughs* Xav really likes to annoy him intentionally even if it seems so innocent from aside.

The hoping you died was great, I’m feeling better and I’m sure you are too, Denny. Good luck at anime con and I think its great that you respond to your fans, could build a great fanbase. Adios, and good grammar to you all.
Your neighborhood grammar nazi,

When I tried to post my comment it tried to make me log in to Word Press, so I saved what I’d typed in a text file. Here it is:

Well, the first panel is really all background and it does an outstanding job of showing how the whole city is celebrating. The lighthouse in the (even farther) background really adds to the perspective – the city having a huge party, then the bay (all tranquil and everything), and then the lighthouse in the distance. (Oh, and the stars!)

And my theory is that Denny, now seen as the hero, is kissing all the handsome young men of Seadril. And when she gets on a ship and leaves for Morland they’ll all be heartbroken, until their girlfriends (and wives?) inform them just how much trouble they’re in. :D My wholly logical reason for this is that it would be a lot of fun. :P

And did I mention how much I love the first panel? Oh… well it’s worth saying (typing) twice.

@Ians
Welcome back!

@Lou
Thank you!

@Stonefoot
Yeah I was trying an anti spam plug in but apparently it made people unable to comment. I should fiddle with it later. ^^;
Haha I think that`s one of my good backgrounds there… and maybe the lights hide my kinda plain buildings. *laughs*
Thanks for the comment!

@sum reader
Haha, thank you!

@Deko: Yup pretty much, that looks like a shocked and disapproving face as opposed to a shocked and confused face to me, leading me to think she may be blitzed. –Which apparently she is as the next page is out. ^.^;;

@Denny: Ahh, well that just goes to show you’ve got the right mindset to make truly awesome comics– if you’re attracted just as much to studying the art as the story, you know your own art is going to get all the better for it!
